Date: Thursday 18th February 2021 Title: Status of SHINE Cryomodule Development and Infrastructure Construction
Speaker: Lixin Yin, Chief Engineer of SHINE Project, SSRF, SARI, CAS
Abstract: SHINE project is under the key technology R&D, the main facility engineering design, and the building construction period. For the superconducting RF R&D, three works are carried out in parallel. First, a group of prototypes of the key components are designed, fabricated and tested. Furthermore, using these components, a series of trial assembly of a cryomodule were performed to confirm the design, the assembly process, as well as to train the technical team. Last, two test cryomodules with cavity mock-ups were assembled. One of them is used for transportation test, and the other for cool-down test. A cryomodule with the first set of 8 cavities is under assembling, which aims for the horizontal test in spring 2021. A cryomodule assembling and test workshop is established in Shanghai, and a cavity surface treatment platform in Wuxi, in order to support the project. This talk will give a general introduction on the progress of SHINE cryomodule R&D and the infrastructure construction.
